The Rap Sheet

Here's what we are reading, loving, buying, and generally laughing our asses off about at the Owl's Skull today. Enjoy! BTW, there's only 12 more days until Christmas. On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, ... a complete state of panic ... A/J

This send-up of the Williams Sonoma Catalog by Drew McGary from Deadspin is dead on.
The Alice in Limbo tee from Qwertee
This piece on the 20th anniversary (when did I get so old?) of Nirvana's Unplugged album for MTV. I listened to it so much I wore out the tape. My memory of Unplugged is sitting in the bed of an enormous pickup truck, smoking a cigarette after having rowed myself down the whitewater on the Yough River, listening to "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" on high blast. My life, at that moment, was absolutely perfect.
Yet another testament to the fact that I am middle-aged, a tale of the life and death of Lisa Frank. I really wanted a watery unicorn sticker. Which I never got. ... I hate rainbows.
So, we haven't even broached my Janis Joplin obsession yet. When I was in college, I had a six-foot poster of Janis over my bed. Let's just say that my Dad was very concerned. And I just discovered that Janis has a Facebook page.  And a Twitter account.
These are adorable. Especially since I often have to measure milk.
Anthem 1 this week.

Anthem 2.

I'm beginning to think this author might be right. Arguments as to why I should continue? House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski
If Edward Gorey and Maurice Sendak had illustrated My First Kafka.
For the evil stepsister or fairy godmother who has everything, this Rebecca Minkoff purse.
